Case Study
Background
Policyholder’s home has damaged by severe flooding up to a height of 1.2 m approximately 3 weeks before Christmas. The claim was quickly identified as high priority as the Insured’s baby was due to be born between Christmas and New Year.
Concerns and Considerations
- Property had previously received flood defence work after 2005
- The imminent arrival of a new baby
- Family were living in a caravan on driveway
Works Involved
- Removal of contents (Salvageable and BER)
- Minimal strip out works incl. inspection hatches
- Application of antimicrobial
- Set up of correct drying regime using our patented ADS 3000
Summary
- The drying took less than 8 days to complete after strip out works
- Estimated saving of circa £15k in relation to reduced alternative accommodation and reinstatements savings
- Following completion of reinstatement and redecoration Insured was back living within their property by the end of January with their new ‘addition’ to their family, less than 2 months after the flood
