Carpet Care Tips
Just How Clean Are Your Carpets?
Save yourself money and maintain a healthy home by using the following simple carpet care tips:
- Doormats and entrance mats will help to prevent soil build up around doorways. It will also reduce the amount of soil entering your home.
- Use a vacuum cleaner with a HEPA (high-efficiency particulate arrester) and vacuum your carpets at least 3 times a week. A quick spray of Chem-Dry's Carpet Deodoriser will provide a deodorisating fragrance.
- Remove any spillages and carpet stains immediately. Chem-Dry's various array of stain removal services and dedicated stain removal products such as our Professional Strength Spot Remover will help to achieve this. Once you have removed as much of the carpet stain or fabric stain as possible, then apply some Professional Strength Spot Remover and then blot with a clean white towel or cloth. Never rub the stain as this will grind the stain into your carpet or fabrics. It could even cause damage to your carpet fibres.
- It is suggested, that your carpets and fabrics should be cleaned and protected every 6-9 months.
Traffic Lane Grey
Dirty Carpet & Soiled Carpets.
Some rooms do have traffic areas, these are areas of any room constantly suffering from being walked on. These heavy traffic areas bear the brunt of busy daily routines and suffer as a result from what is know as "traffic lane grey".
What is Traffic Lane Grey
Carpet cleaning professionals can do little about traffic lane grey. A carpet that is 10 years old, when cleaned is a clean 10 year old carpet. Therefore it may not meet your expectations. One suggestion could be to rearrange the furniture so traffic areas are changed on a regular basis.
Carpets which haven't been professionally cleaned for long periods, tend to become heavily soiled and stained. If Chem-Dry can't clean it.....no one can. Without doubt regular care and maintenance of your carpets and fabrics can maintain the longevity of your furnishings.
