In July 2013 we were lucky enough to have Matt Barber, Chem-Dry technical trainer, travel down again to give us some more excellent training. This time the training was to optimize our efficiency at "Solvent Dry Cleaning Curtains". Curtains are a vital part of your home to clean as they act like a big filter collecting dust particles, odours and fumes, so over a period of time they will start to look dull and smell. After learning all the different types of curtains and curtain fixtures and fittings we were then taught the correct way to conduct a clean. Even though we have been cleaning carpets, Upholstery, Curtains and much more for many years we have a strong belief that training is vital to keeping our customers happy and giving them the best experience possible, therefore we will continue to train all of our staff to the highest level possible and we look forward to seeing Matt again soon. Keep checking our blog to hear what we have been up to.
Here at Chem Dry Devon we were lucky enough for Matt Barber, from Chem-Dry franchising technical training, to visit us to give us some excellent tuition in various cleaning methods.
On the first day with Matt he showed us how to clean tiles and stone using our new specially designed power head exclusively for cleaning tile and stone. We started off cleaning our back porch where our two Springer spaniels live, as you can imagine with two spaniels living in there the tiles were a bit grotty, but after Matt showed us the best method of cleaning the ceramic tiles they came up spotless and sparkling. We then cleaned our front porch which has a natural stone floor; we discovered using a bit of science, that this floor had a varnish coating over it, so to avoid damage we used a lower PH cleaner meaning that our floor was cleaned beautifully with no damage sustained in the process.
On the second day we were joined by some other franchise owners and together we started the day learning how to clean and condition leather with maximum efficiency. We spent the morning learning how to distinguish between different types of leather and also what method was best used to treat each type of leather.
In the afternoon we all had a refresher course on how to successfully perform spot and stain removal on various types of materials and surfaces. Although we already have a very high success rate in removing spots and stains from carpets and upholstery here at Chem Dry Devon we do believe in keeping our knowledge as up to date and refreshed as possible so that we can deliver you the highest possible standard of clean.
We enjoyed our training so much with Matt that he will hopefully be returning in July to give us some training on curtain cleaning.
